Avoid Social Media Squashing Your Shot at a Dream Job

Here is the press release I just sent out. This is to test the effectiveness of press releases on my name.

Clearwater, FL, May 23, 2011 – Joseph Vangieri, internet marketing guru, says companies are hiring again. Throngs of the unemployed submit professionally written resumes and cover letters to HR offices and upload them on recruitment websites daily, but job seekers also need to keep the polish on their social media footprint. HR personnel are now using this to aid in the qualification process for candidates.
Joe Vangieri states that according to threads from top HR personnel on monster.com, LinkedIn and Jobfox, the first step taken to check out a candidate is a Google search of the person’s name. This helps to confirm the claims about their job history, performance, awards, etc.

When is the last time you did a Google search on your name?  What did you find?  Would you like a prospective employer to see it?  What message is tagged with your name?
Joseph Vangieri, veteran internet marketing guru, has launched an instructional BlogUmentary “What is Your Social Media Footprint?” featuring lessons on how to control your very public internet profile.

“This is a free service that will help you take control of your social media footprint,” said Vangieri. “It’s like a gym membership, exciting at first then you stop going.  Your social media footprint needs daily attention, posting comments or creating and uploading videos.”

This BlogUmentary has three new lessons each week. Topics cover Google, Google profiles, Blogspot, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and Google Ad Words.
“Lessons start with the basics culminating in the social media finishing school. This is not for a dilettante, it takes diligent work,” says Vangieri.

Joe Vangieri was founder of Visiosonic makers of PCDJ building a monthly entertainment application with over 3 million active users.  He’s also the founder of Automated Customer Care CRM products and Tagg Boxx social media applications. He can be contacted at (727) 458-4913 or joevangieri@gmail.com for professional consultation regarding your social media footprint.

Introduction: What is your social media footprint?

Introduction: What is your social media footprint? How does it effect you?  Can you change your footprint?

This is what I been doing for the past 6 weeks. Ive been working on my Social Media footprint and now I want to document it. I believe all CMO's and marketing folks need to hone in on these methods. Here is my attempt, I'll document here so we can all track my progress.

Im not a news reporter, but I'm sure I'll get better as the weeks roll on. Here is my first in the video Blog-U-Mentary.
What is your social media footprint Pt.1

What is your social media footprint Pt, 2

Here's how important social media is to the business world:
“CMOs have moved beyond fear and skepticism to embrace social media as the source for strategic intelligence that can transform their products, brands and business,” says Bazaarvoice’s own CMO, Erin Mulligan Nelson. “Social is much more than a campaign; it is now a launch pad for innovation.”

MarketingSherpa social media budgets
“US marketers will spend $3.08 billion to advertise on social networking sites this year,” according to eMarketer. “Spending will be up 55% over the $1.99 billion advertisers devoted to social networks in 2010 and will rise by a further 27.7% next year to reach nearly $4 billion.”
